Citizen Feedback

I appreciate some of the recent efforts in beautifying parts of the city, but we still have a long way to go in maintaining our public parks, pedestrian walkways, and streetlights. In areas like Maitama Extension and Utako, many green spaces are overgrown or littered, and security lighting is either broken or nonexistent. If Abuja wants to attract global attention and tourism, we must keep our environment clean, green, and safe—especially for families, children, and night commuters. I believe a structured city-wide beautification and smart surveillance project would be a great step forward.

It’s becoming increasingly difficult to rely on electricity here in the FCT, even within high-density areas like Gwarinpa and Jabi. Businesses suffer, students struggle, and families are forced to rely on costly and polluting generators. Abuja should lead Nigeria in adopting sustainable, uninterrupted power solutions. If there’s a plan for solar, wind or biogas-powered microgrids in the new Abuja city model, I strongly urge its fast-tracking and inclusive rollout to both formal and informal settlements. Clean energy should not be a luxury—it should be a basic service.

Good morning. I’d like to raise a concern regarding our city’s traffic system. Every weekday, commuters from satellite towns like Nyanya, Mararaba, and Lugbe spend hours just to get to work in the city centre. The lack of efficient public transport, proper routing, and traffic signal coordination is seriously affecting productivity and quality of life. I believe Abuja deserves a modern, smart transport system—like electric taxis, well-structured BRT lanes, or tech-based ride hailing that reduces congestion. Please let’s prioritize intelligent mobility as we build the Abuja of the future.
